"The Total Drop" is one of The Homosexuals all-time best songs (it also turned up on a Recommended Records 7" credited to The Homosexuals but on this release is credited to Ici La Bas).
This is a Homosexuals release -but the band aren't mentioned anywhere- instead each track is by a different made-up artist to deliberately cause maximum confusion, enigma and mystery.
As time goes on The Homosexuals are revealed as one of the all-time great post-punk bands of the era. They operated completely out of the mainstream with no coverage at all from the media of the time. This Black Noise release -with all the intricate data in its booklet- only serves to pile up yet more mystery upon mystery, with the scant documentation accumulated from previous releases only muddying the waters further.
