Here’s a rather solid 12” by German EBM act Velodrome. Though this is their only release, each member of the duo had been previously active in other similar bands. Previous to Velodrome, Jorge Guber played in both Lineas Aereas and Metropakt while vocalist Krishna Goineau was a member of the famous Liaisons Dangereuses, who resumed activity soon after this 12” release. Telepherique ‎- Zeitgefühl [Cass] (1989, Drahtfunk-Products)

The project Telepherique began in 1989 with the intention to explore processes and working with people of different cultures. They started with mail-art projects, co-operations, and communication with people all over the world. Basically, Telepherique is Klaus, Danijela and Rene Jochim, from Würzburg, Germany, but there were others that became members of Telepherique, because of the massive collaborations and projects: Ulf Harr, Echart Seilacher, Harry Lüftl, Stefan Au, Stefan Alt and Karin. The name "Telepherique" is the french word for funicular railway. This name was chosen because of the intention gaining a view from a higher level. [SOURCE: DISCOGS]

Salem 66 ‎- A Ripping Spin [LP] (1985, Homestead Records)

Although they're becoming less dissonant and more direct than they were on their eye-opening, self-titled mini-LP debut, and truth be told, Salem 66 sounded more interesting as an all-female Boston trio before they added a (male) second guitar (the economy of Judy Grunwald's simple parts seemed to fit Beth Kaplan's lead bass parts much better), this is still the hoped-for overwhelming success fans believed was possible. The main strengths are the feminine harmonies, floating between the two ladies named above among superb melodies and fragile, haunting lyrics. Few bands could ever lay their emotions on the table with the degree of alarming frequency as we see in "Carry a Torch" (the really worrisome question to ask a lover about an ex: "Does she still carry at torch for you?" -and if the answer is yes, well, how about you too?). "Across the Sea" carries a similar but very different ache of separation, one common to bands that tour too much perhaps, and "Playground" seems fraught with concern more than any childlike romp. And good to see they finally recorded their longstanding cover of Wire's modest 'Pink Flag' pop single masterpiece, "Fragile." An experience as much as an excellent record. [SOURCE: ALLMUSIC]

R.N.A. Organism ‎- R.N.A.O Meets P.O.P.O [LP] (1980, Vanity Records)

Receiving a cassette tape from R.N.A. Organism by air-mail, Agi Yuzuru (head of Vanity Records) mistakenly thought they were from overseas and highly acclaimed the band in Rock Magazine. However, it was a clever ploy by Kaoru Sato from Kyoto. This album is amazing dub music with funky bass, noise guitar, trumpet and rhythm machine -sort of like a heavier version of Andy Partridge's 'Take Away'. Subsequently the group changed its name to EP-4, which became known for its guerrilla live performances as well as simultaneously releasing its debut album on both major and indie labels. Meanwhile, Sato disappeared from the music scene in the mid-80's. [SOURCE: LAST.FM]

The Parachute Men ‎- Bed And Breakfast [12''] (1989)

Formed in Leeds, Yorkshire, England, in 1985 by Fiona Gregg (vocals), Stephen H. Gregg (guitar), Andrew Howes (bass) and Mark Boyce (drums), The Parachute Men proved to have a bat’s ear for a tune, yet were persistently undersold by circumstance. Signing to Fire Records in 1987 was a promising move, particularly when ‘The Innocents’ was released to warm approval, but shortly afterwards, Howes and Boyce departed acrimoniously, leaving Fiona and Stephen H. Gregg to tour as an acoustic set-up until Matthew Parkin (bass) and Paul Walker (drums) filled the vacancies. The second album was released well over a year after it was recorded, costing the band valuable momentum and causing Parkin to be replaced by Colleen Browne, but The Parachute Men continued to create lovingly textured guitar sounds. However, the lack of media focus, undoubtedly exacerbated by their northern location, ensured that their talents remained the knowledge of a privileged few, and they disbanded soon after the release of 'Earth, Dogs And Eggshells'. Officer! ‎- Yes Yes No No Yes No Yes [LP] (1988, Not On Label)

Officer! is the brainchild of Londoner Mick Hobbs. His musical roots are in the fecund RIO scene of the late ’70s and early 1980s, initially as guitarist in The Work (alongside Bill Gilonis, Rick Wilson and Henry Cow’s Tim Hodgkinson), and subsequent related groupings The Lowest Note, The Lo Yo Yo, and The Momes. Over the course of the decade he became closely associated with This Heat and their Cold Storage studio in Brixton, working with the likes of Flaming Tunes, Family Fodder, Catherine Jauniaux and Zeena Parkins, to name but a few. 

The Officer! project formally surfaced in 1982 with a cassette tape entitled 'Eight New Songs By Mick Hobbs'. It marked the blossoming of a singular writer and improvisor, with a gift for plangent melody, ingenious arrangement and lyrics at once caustic and courtly, playful and profound. The Cold Storage-recorded 'Ossification' LP arrived a year later, followed by 'Cough' (1985) and 'Yes Yes No No Yes No Yes' (1988). [SOURCE: BLACKEST EVER BLACK]

Negative Reaction - Negative Reaction [Cass] (1982, Terse Tapes)

Negative Reaction were an obscure Australian group formed by Michael "Mick" Kingham, Milan Stojanovic, and Jim Bodnar in 1978. They released a cassette on the legendary Australian industrial and home-taping label Terse and eventually also released this self-titled LP in 1981. The album ranks amongst the most captivating and gripping albums from the Australian experimental post-punk time and contains good dark poetical lyrics. Mania D. ‎- Track 4 [7''] (1980)

Mania D was a Berliner new wave-underground band at the end of the seventies, beginning of the eighties. They had been part of the "Geniale Dilettanten" (Ingenious Dilettantes) movement, a merger of the new wave and post-punk scene. Bandmembers were the predecessors of the all-girls band Malaria!, of Liaisons Dangereuses, Einstürzende Neubauten, Die Krupps. Pseudonym used by the multidisciplinary artist from Madrid Francisco Felipe. Under this mysterious name, he develops a strong collage of processed sounds reminiscent of the sound experiments of foreign projects such as the French Etant Donnes. In 1985, he published the demo 'Breve Jornada por un Jardín Cerrado' (EGK 004), where he collected extracts from his first cassette, a variation of' "Últimos Momentos de la Jornada" and extracts from "Noche gruesa". The Janitors - Chicken Stew [7''] (1985, In Tape)

The Janitors were Andrew Denton (vocals), Craig Hope (slide guitar, keyboards), Pete Crowe (bass guitar), and Tim Stirland (drums). Denton, Hope and friend Phil Storey recorded demos in Leicester's Highfields which Yeah Yeah Noh's John Grayland brought to the attention of some indie labels. Described as "a mixture of Membranes meeting Captain Beefheart", they signed to Marc Riley's In-Tape label, releasing their debut single, 'Chicken Stew' in July 1985 (on which Hope played all of the instruments).
