Zajártalom – Áldozati Énekek / Live [Cass] (1996, Not On Label)

Zajártalom was an experimental noise band from Budapest, Hungary. Active period 1986-1988, with one release. “Our band was founded in the fall of 1986. Our first concert took place on December 6, 1986 in Petöfi Csarnok, Budapest. We want to stage a new attempt in our music. We’re trying to perform comprehensive noise music that embraces all environmental sound (noise) effects. This is not industrial music! The sound effects are basic, this is an instrumental production. Process music that is born on stage and forms a coherent whole together with background sounds. Each of our concerts are based on different songs, which is why we always make a concert that can only be heard once. It's difficult to make sense of it, but in fact there is no need to. It is impossible to listen to the ever-changing soundtrack and music at the same time. Our goal is for the listener to perceive what is happening on stage with his senses, surrender himself to sound effects, let his mind free, because these noises are everyday, consciousness sound effects in an amplified form. Congested feelings that even in their unity, they can manifest themselves in many ways... The band broke up in early 1988…” (Karel, Második Látás fanzine 1990). Members: Kalóczkai Attila (voice ), Tunner János (guitar ), Veress János (guitar ), Apró Imre (bass ) and Karel (drums, noise). [SOURCE: YOUTUBE]

Bp. Service – Bp. Service [Cass] (1990, Weast CMC Agency)

BP. Service was one of Hungary's important industrial music groups. Industrial music in Hungary did exist behind the iron curtain in the 80's but in very marginal forms. Some of the bands are Art Deco, CMC and Falatra(x). Basically it was not until the early nineties that industrial groups could publish their music regularly in Hungary and that also more groups started to exist.

BP. Service consisted of Szabó György, Kósa Vince and Orbán Balázs. Szabo György is subsequently known for his graphic design and creating many of the posters for underground concerts in Budapest before the fall of the iron curtain. Lately those posters have received renewed attention and have been compiled in a book. Kósa Vince was also the founder of the group Art Deco and can be considered as one of the pioneers of Industrial music in Hungary.

This cassette that came out in 1990 contains two lengthy tracks of classic industrial sounds. It conceptually takes on the big city or metropole (in this case Budapest) as a place of noise where traffic, construction, dirt, automation and industry are part of the daily urban environment. A concept that can be seen often in this particular vein of industrial music, tracing back most notably to Berlin's finest Einstürzende Neubauten, but of course there are numerous examples. The music contains bleak Hungarian lyrics, sound-manipulations and the use of metal and other physical materials that are being used rhythmically. [SOURCE: ARCHAIC INVENTIONS]

Trottel – Christmas Demo [Cass] (1986, Not On Label)

Trottel is a Hungarian punk band that later turned into psychedelic sound exploration (psychedelia–folk–groove–electronica) from Budapest, formed in 1985. The band is on the road since 1989, the year when the first album untitled ‘Borderline Sydroma’ came out on the legendary french record label Gougnaf Movement.

Long time passed since then, more than 1000’s concerts, one and a half million kilometers done, 12 albums, many different people with many different instruments and influences. The matter of fact is that Trottel is in a permanent change and transformation. Each tour, each recording is a new challenge and each new member brings new musical inspiration into this amoba-like project. [SOURCE: TROTTEL.HU

Carwashtagnacht ‎– Constant Balance [CD] (1999, Trottel Records)

Carwashtagnacht was a Hungarian industrial metal band from the small city of Békéscaba in the south-east of Hungary formed by Kiss Balázs (guitar), Knyihár Pál (bass guitar) and Sörös Gergö (vocals and programming). They played a Godflesh inspired style in which long-lasting repetitive metal riffs were combined with drum machine patterns with in this case gloomy distorted vocals in Hungarian and English. A band like Godflesh has had a lot of influence in Eastern Europe after the change of the political system in the 90's. Because of the lack of musical extremes in dominant music culture in socialist countries like Hungary before the 90's, many people were inspired by metal and punk bands.

In the late 90's Carwashtagnacht published a CD on the legendary Trottel Records in Hungary that together with the label Bahia was responsible for the output of alternative and experimental bands in Hungary. The label revolved around the alter-rock band Trottel that started out in the early 80's as a punk band and later evolved into an ethno-experimental-space-band. [SOURCE: ARCHAIC INVENTIONS
