The Tesco Bombers came out of the London Post-Punk scene, supporting acts like The Raincoats and The Mo-Dettes. Their line up drew together members from other groups around at the time including Jim 'Amos' Welton of Homosexuals fame. "Break The Ice At Parties" was released in 1982 on the legendary Y Records as a B side on the 'Hernando's Hideaway' 7". The staccato, off beat saxaphones and guitars are held together with a funky bassline and drums, alowing the music to get away with sounding slightly retarded and clever at the same time, all wrapped up in just under 2 minutes.
