Acute Logic was a British post-punk band formed by Pete Collins (vocals, guitar), Brett Giddings (bass), Curt B (keyboards) and David S (drums). They only released the 7” 'Moroccan Nights' in 1981 on the Illogical Records label.
64 Spiders was a proto-grunge band from Seattle formed in 1984 and disbanded in 1987. Members were Brother James Burdyshaw (vocals, guitar, later Cat Butt, Sinister Six, The Bare-Ass Minimums, Yummy), Joe Ross (vocals, bass, ex The Green Pajamas, later Capping Day, Joe Ross & The Bird Watchers, Yummy), Norman Scott McCollum (drums, later Capping Day, Gruntruck, Skin Yard, Softy). Other members were Brian Wright (drums, 1984), Ross Cottrell (bass, 1984-85), Dave Lee (vocals, 1985-86) and Eric Lee Walker (drums, 1985-86). They released one self-titled cassette on Endgame Records in 1987 and one 7’’ (‘Potty Swat’) in 1989 on the garage punk label Regal Select Records.
Cog Sinister was a record company run by Mark E. Smith, founded 1987 and dissolved 5 May 1992.
The first appearance of the Cog Sinister label was in 1987 when The Fall used it as the imprint for their self-released anthology album 'Palace Of Swords Reversed'.
The imprint returned in 1990 when the band signed to Fontana and used Cog Sinister as a vanity label for their releases. When they moved from Fontana to Permanent Records, they continued to use the Cog Sinister brand on their releases.
Since leaving Permanent in 1995, The Fall no longer used Cog Sinister on their new material. However, since 1997, the imprint has become part of the Voiceprint label group, and is being used for reissues of the group's back-catalogue. [SOURCE: DISCOGS]

Notes:
There is an approximately 18 second uncredited piece by The Fall leading into the Beatrice track. Sounds like MES doing a reading over a bit of "Tempo House".
The Philip Johnson piece appears to be a 1:43 sound collage made of extremely slowed down parts of "Repitition", the b-side to the first single by the Fall.
Yeah Yeah Noh are an "unpop" group formed in Leicester, England in 1983. Originally a product of the DIY post-punk era, they released two albums and five singles while still together in the 1980s, and have had two compilation albums issued since they split in 1986. Yeah Yeah Noh was formed by Derek Hammond (vocals, guitar) and John Grayland (guitar); Adrian Crossan (bass) joined them for the first single along with Graham Summers (drums). Sue Dorey (drums, vocals) was then recruited to complete the line up, debuting on the second single. Two of the band members, John Grayland and Sue Dorey (along with Damian S), published "Printhead", a free magazine focusing on independent music in Leicester and its environs. The magazine released 'Let's Cut a Rug', a compilation LP of songs from local independent bands. Signing to In-Tape records, the band debuted in June 1984 with the 'The Cottage Industry EP', featuring humorous and satirical lyrics and post-punk/jangle-pop music. After a further two ep's, the releases so far were collected on the album 'When I Am A Big Girl'. [SOURCE: WIKIPEDIA]
Xero were an important part of the Brisbane Punk scene which developed in the late 1970's and early 1980's. They played at every major venue at one time or another. The spelling of the name changed at different times to "Zero", "Xiro", etc.
As well as musical performances, the group left many artifacts such as self-produced Cassette Tapes, Booklets, and a mini EP. John-e Willsted designed many hand-bills used to promote gigs. The artwork on some of these is outstanding.
The band finally split when Irena Luckus went to live in Paris for a time. Xero reformed briefly to perform at the 1986 Livid Festival. [SOURCE: XERO HOME PAGE]

Visible was a synth-pop and minimal wave duo formed in Troyes, France, by Pascal Tritsch (Guitar, Bass, Vocals) and Yves Thibord (Keyboards), that released two 7", 'Essor Assuré' (1981) and 'Indicible Fréquence' (1982) and a 12'', 'A Fine Aim In Life' (1983) all on the Hawai label. In 1982, Yves Thibord produced the EP 'Shangaï Express' by the French band of the same name, and in 1989 he collaborated by adding effects and samplers to the rai album 'Hana Hana' by Chaba Fadela and Cheb Sahraoui. They have appeared on compilations such as 'BIPPP: French Synth-Wave 1979/85' (2006) and 'Des Jeunes Gens Modernes' (2008).

Ting Voice only released a 12" on Konkurrenz, the same label as quite a few great acts, including Bal Paré, Exkurs, Die Kapazität, and Matthias Schuster (who is featured on this record). You'll definitely hear familiar sounds on this. Female vocals and plenty of synthwave goodness. [SOURCE: CRISPY NUGGETS]

Send No Flowers were a Liverpool band from 1981 to 1983 featuring Lin Sangster (on guitar and vocals), Jake Wakstein (on drums), Paul Sangster (on bass), and Timmo O’Shea (on guitar). They had songs on two compilation cassettes ('Adventures In Reality' and 'Index #2') before signing to the Praxis label (the label that also released The Balcony). It appears they released just one 7″ “Playing For Time” b/w “Wall of Convention” and “One More Day” before calling it a day. Lyn Sangster and Jake Wakstein both went on to form the fantastic Play Hard Records band Kit and Paul Sangster went on to play sessions in The High Five.

Paul Kelday has created cassette albums of electro-acoustic music from 1974-1990 using electronic and recorded sounds. These have now been transferred to CDRW with some reorganising and revised titleing. Musical influences are musique concrete, Stockhausen and 60's psychedelia. [SOURCE: NTS]
Boyd Rice: the man, the motherfucker, the myth. Professional liar! Schoolboys admire! Young girls desire! And this little slab of wax is where the legend began. But not just the legend of the man, but the legend of industrial music itself: this is the first industrial single of all time.
Much like fellow experimentalists Merzbow and Nurse With Wound, NON started out as a group rather than a solo project. ‘Mode of Infection / Knife Ladder’ has some bloke called Robert Turman on tapes alongside the Riceman.
"Mode of Infection" is a hypnotic maze of dark synth drones, which bury some mumbling vocals from Boyd. "Knife Ladder" is a landmark of harsh noise; even TG’s live shows from the era couldn’t capture the sound of machinery gone haywire as accurately as this crude, shrill assault. The tortured female screaming throughout created images of abduction, some unfortunate soul dragged off the streets into some van and taken to god knows where. Pretty sinister stuff anyway.
Of these two tracks, "Mode of Infection" is the strongest but it represents a sound that Boyd has sadly revisited rarely. "Knife Ladder", however, is practically the blueprint for albums like ‘Physical Evidence’. [SOURCE: RATE YOUR MUSIC]

Dick Lucas is the British vocalist of the 1980s British anarcho-punk rock band Subhumans, whom he joined in September 1980, as well as the ska-punk band Citizen Fish, joined in 1990. Before that he had been vocalist in The Mental, from March 1979 to August 1980. Lucas' lyrical content ranged from his outrage and defiance at a system that had, in his perception, betrayed him to philosophical ruminations on the nature of conformity, group-think and the individual's place in society. This is an essential EP from The Limp who were basically a side project of Pel Mel, but also with connections to Scattered Order and Prod. It was recorded and engineered at M Squared by Mitch Jones and Patrick Gibson so its got that M Squared feel and production. It has a timeless beauty within its grooves. "Marked Man", with its haunting melody and eerie synth lines and the spikier guitar driven and "Humans Beware" are the two standouts, but almost equally wonderful is "Ghost Train" with its hypnotic swirls of keyboards and synths. Judy McGee's vocals are beautiful across all 3 tracks and they perfectly complement the material. [SOURCE: DISCOGS]
Karmas Colectivos formed in mid-1982, influenced mainly by bands such U2, Simple Minds or The Cure and headed by a veteran of the local scene, Vicente Comes "Paloma". The first formation was composed by Salva Ortiz (drums), Vicente Sabater (keyboards), Sol Rodríguez (choruses), José Luis Granell (sax), Salva Sanambrosio (bass), and Vicente Comes (voice and guitar). The beginnings of "Paloma" dated back to the mid 70's, when he founded bands like Stardust, Welcome or Doble Zero. Already in the 80s, he infiltrated in other bands such as Cabezones and Co., Fanzine, Tomates Electricos and La Base. [SOURCE: GRUPOS NACIONALES NUEVA OLA 80]
