Sardine v (or just Sardine) were an Australian post-punk band, formed in 1980 by Ian Rilen (X, Rose Tattoo) on guitar and vocals, and his then-wife, Stephanie Rilen (a.k.a. Stephanie Falconer) on lead vocals and keyboards. They issued a single, 'Sabotage' (1982), and an extended play, 'I Hate You' (1983). Other members included Johanna Pigott on bass guitar and Andrew Garton on saxophone. Sardine v disbanded in 1983. [SOURCE: WIKIPEDIA]
Ralph Lundsten is a Swedish composer of electronic music, as well as a film director, artist and author.
He was born on 6 October 1936 in Ersnäs, Norrbotten, in northern Sweden, and now lives in Nacka on the outskirts of Stockholm, still close to the forest and the sea. His home is Castle Frankenburg, a pink wooden mansion dating from 1878 which also houses his electronic music studio, Andromeda Studio.
Since 1959 he has lived an independent life, creating his own personal musical language, and preparing original films and exhibitions. His song "Out in the Wide World" serves as the signature tune for Radio Sweden International broadcasts.
During the 1950s Ralph Lundsten built his own electronic musical instruments and was one of the first pioneers in this field. [SOURCE: WIKIPEDIA]

A man of mystery, Quintron is essentially a one-man band hailing from New Orleans, LA. His weirdo rock centers around his manic organ playing (which can be heard at length on 'Play 9 Songs with Mr. Quintron', the gospel album he recorded with rowdy Memphis guitar slingers the Oblivians). While some of Quintron's later releases, and many of his collaborations with puppet-wielding partner Miss Pussycat, often yield quirky, fun songs, 'Satan Is Dead' is a bit more grating. From the opening strains of "Bass Solo" (a 30-second track of silence and tape hiss), it becomes clear that the album lacks focus and suffers from the absence of Quintron's spazzed-out Jimmy Smith-esque noodlings. The new "dance craze" Quintron promises at the introduction of "Do the Stomp" devolves into a fuzzy militant march. Written well in advance of hurricane Katrina, "9th Wd. Breakdown" offers a shout-out to Quintron's adopted home stomping ground in New Orleans. Most of the album's vocals are nonsensical mumbling, making it hard to point to any song as being particularly catchy or memorable. "Nonstop Danger" is driven by frantic organ lines and static vocals that give the feeling of being a radio transmission of alternate-universe gospel. "American music/Just like a time bomb," Quintron and Miss Pussycat chant. "Organ Solo" is likely the highlight of the album. Driven by a programmed drumbeat and topped with keyboard runs that blip and bleep like giddy Star Wars droids, the song is a glimpse at the experimental playfulness that makes much of Quintron's work worthwhile. In addition to his keyboard attack, Quintron is something of an inventor, best known for a contraption dubbed the Drum Buddy. In addition to the light-powered drum machine's use in several of 'Satan Is Dead's Southern-flavored avant noise tracks, the album includes an audio commercial for the Drum Buddy. Even more intriguing, the album includes a photo of the mysterious Drum Buddy contraption, which looks like a mash-up of a phonograph and a salon hair dryer. [SOURCE: ALLMUSIC]

Before the “Tea Party-gate,” before twee-immortalizations by way of “quirky” millennial movie soundtracks, before playing with the Kropotkins, and before the Velvet Underground reunion in the 90s, Moe Tucker joined up with Alan and Richard Bishop of Sun City Girls, as well as fellow AZ collaborators David Oliphant, Bennie Baresi, and Jesse Akkari, and made an album. It’s an amazing mixture of early SCG-experimentalism, Velvet-inspired bashing, and howling, immediacy captured by way of equipment prone to tape hiss, as well as a living illustration of the link between the two generations. From this band, SCG would form, and the evolution seems as much obvious as it does brilliant, like one of those moments when you predict the end of a film and still find yourself totally immersed. While Opal's 'Happy Nightmare Baby' is more representative of the group's richly textured brand of neo-psychedelia, the stripped-down 'Early Recordings' compilation is an even better example of David Roback and Kendra Smith's remarkable songcraft. Released in the wake of the group's breakup, the album collects the majority of tracks from the 'Fell From the Sun' and 'Northern Line' EPs, along with a handful of outtakes and unreleased cuts, all spotlighting Opal's more subdued, acoustic-folk side. Peeling away the mystical haze which enshrouded 'Happy Nightmare Baby', the songs are plaintive and stark, exposing the emotional complexity at the band's core -the wistful "Empty Box Blues" and the haunting "Harriet Brown," both previously unissued, are unmatched in their beauty and grace. Neonbabies were a Berlin pop-punk band that existed from 1978 to 1983. The sisters Inga, alias Inga DiLemma, and Annette Humpe, alias Anita Spinetti, formed the core of the band in autumn 1979. The already experienced musicians Nikolaus Polack, Conny Cool, Reinhard Meermann and Tony Niss also played with them. In early 1980 they recorded their first EP, which also included Anette Humpe's song "Blaue Augen" ("Blue Eyes"), which would later make her famous on Ideal. Annette Humpe founded the band Ideal in April 1980, but stayed with Neonbabies until the summer. Their first LP was released by Good Noise, after which the band switched to Ariola. In autumn 1982 Nikolaus Polak left the band, Toni Kambiz came for him. In 1983 the band broke up. [SOURCE: INDIPEDIA.DE]

Mar Otra Vez was a Spanish musical group from the 1980s. Led by Javier Corcobado, it had a clear post-punk and not wave orientation, and because of its innovation in this experimental music it became a reference within the musical movement that originated in the Madrid movement. Subsequently, it was considered a cult group for many music lovers. [SOURCE: WIKIPEDIA]

The mysterious LA Synthesis haven’t put out much work, but what they have produced makes you anxious for more. On their only album to date, 'Matrix Surfer', they artfully blend Detroitian techno with the sounds and melodies of early Black Dog era IDM. It’s deep and full of emotion, absolutely stunning. Though not as rhythmically complex as some of the Black Dog’s work, it’s melodically equal, avoiding predictable combinations and going, instead, for a rich texture. Take “Fromage Centralle,” for instance. The tracks swirls around a solid beat and continually morphs, creating new sounds for the ear to latch onto. “Frozen Tundra” takes its icy conceit into an aurora borealis of sound, while “Agraphobia” incorporates some industrial sounds into its rhythms to contrast the sounds flowing above it. “If” goes dark, while “Du Androids Dream” sounds like the lost theme to the movie Blade Runner. The final two tracks, “Frozen Tundra Dub” and “Zyllvakrynn” take the listener on an ambient journey. This album is more than worth the trouble it’ll take you to find it. [SOURCE: DISCOGS]

A very strong representation of Keiji Haino cutting loose in a solo context. Recorded live in Japan, 'Execration That Accept to Acknowledge' is a 40-minute chunk of skronk built upon some predictable structural dynamics (loud to very loud to soft to sudden silence), but there's enough density and variance in the piece to make this relentless ferocity accessible. Uncompromising and berserk, this is a thrilling, unclassifiable hybrid. It's as if AC/DC's Angus Young discovered Pete Cosey's soloing on Miles Davis' 'Agharta' and created a whole new trick bag. Not for those who are made woozy by extreme noise damage. [SOURCE: ALLMUSIC]

Here is another Jazz Butcher sampler platter; as the record's subtitle implies, this is a collection of singles which is essentially an update of the 1985 release 'The Gift of Music'. The songs are mostly drawn from 1985 to 1987 records such as 'Sex and Travel', 'Discreet Gentlefolk', and various EP side projects; three of these tracks appear in identical versions on the Mercury label collection 'Bloody Nonsense', while a fourth song, "The Human Jungle", appears in a greatly expanded version here. Sound quality is good and track sequence is effective. This is an interesting album to get if 'Bloody Nonsense' is unavailable. First releases of this album on LP also include a bonus 7" EP of cover songs by Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, and others, recorded from live performances. [SOURCE: ALLMUSIC]

"The Total Drop" is one of The Homosexuals all-time best songs (it also turned up on a Recommended Records 7" credited to The Homosexuals but on this release is credited to Ici La Bas).
This is a Homosexuals release -but the band aren't mentioned anywhere- instead each track is by a different made-up artist to deliberately cause maximum confusion, enigma and mystery.
As time goes on The Homosexuals are revealed as one of the all-time great post-punk bands of the era. They operated completely out of the mainstream with no coverage at all from the media of the time. This Black Noise release -with all the intricate data in its booklet- only serves to pile up yet more mystery upon mystery, with the scant documentation accumulated from previous releases only muddying the waters further.

More brilliant whackage from The Homosexuals camp. Like most of the records on Black Noise (and related labels), this is a collection of fragmentary pieces of very strange design, which go from something very much like British DIY “rock” to small slabs of utter sonic disorder. A true charmer. [SOURCE: DISCOGS]

All tracks were recorded at home. Some on 2 track Revo + some on Mono Portable cheapo cassette machine. All tracks mastered on cassette machine. Tracks: 10. on Side One + 1. 6. on Side Two Rough Mixes from Sloppy Sound Studios - Surrey. The first song on Side Two is sung by lovely 'Michelle' of Battersea. Love to the twins and L Voag for bass on Tracks 1. and 6. of Side Two and much inspiration on the rest. This album was cut at Pye Cutting Studios and consequently sounds terrible.
