The history of Denovo begins in Catania in 1982 formed by Mario Venuti (guitars, sax and vocals), Tony Carbone (bass) and the brothers Luca (guitars and vocals) and Gabriele Madonia (drums). The sound of Denovo is conditioned by the tastes of the components; their first musical experiments have the taste of XTC and The Police but also of Talking Heads and The B-52's but, above all, are influenced by The Beatles, perhaps the strongest cultural link between the four. And, like Lennon and McCartney, Venuti and Madonia share equally the creation of Denovo's songs. The first official recording of the line-up is a 1984 EP recorded for Suono Records entitled 'Niente Insetti Su Wilma', containing four songs (two written by Venuti and two by Madonia) that are quite successful and earn the group the first attention of the specialized press. Published in a few copies, the record is now a collector's item. [SOURCE: WIKIPEDIA]
